Life on the Moon-
What is the nature of a world?
Certainly, the world seems to force a lot upon anyone living in it. Though very little can be said from this one thought, it leaves a lot for one to consider.
Such as, what these forces that make my world, driving me to move and think, are; and how I can manipulate them.
So, being a man on the face of the moon, I headed out my door to the flat gray dust to study the forces. Not soon after walking unseeingly, I noticed that my understanding of the world involved a perceivable sum of the total forces acting upon me in every given second. Yet, I was sure there was more to my life than that which acted upon me; not to mention forces acting upon me which I had no knowledge of. So, to be sure, I started to catalog, looking for patterns to predict that which I saw.
So, as I walked through the dusty surface, I felt the pull on my feet, standing still, and the pull on my shoulders as I continued walking. The moon held me to it, not letting my life drift to the sky. I looked up, and noticed the mild heat accompanying the light from the only source of color visible in the sky. The world and stars provided for me. I decided to turn around.
On my way home, I worked with my confusion. I understood where I was, and how I drifted around, but something seemed unsettling. So, I grouped my thoughts into two categories. One of which was devoted to potential energy, a force which has not yet been sparked. An illusive force created in my mind. The other thoughts noted the kinetic energy, including all which currently acts around me, already in motion, entirely predictable.
With this train of thought, I returned home, my interest on the first category, dreaming of the possibility and inexhaustible confusion I could create. And, it seemed that the quest to understand the first category would take much longer than I could have anticipated; though, I will say the confusion has been settled.
