Three Visions
By Ross Kelly
The world; all existence: time, matter, space, people, time, energy, and existence could be wrapped within itself in one unified cog.
I saw this cog on a hill one night. I keeled over and lost all sense of what was around me. All I could invision was a wheel turning and all parts of existence wrapped into this turning mechanism. Perhaps it meant that we were all meant to be: preordained, destined, decided to be created when and were we were. I saw no way out. Not even death could escape this wheel.
A more pleasant vision came to me as I stepped up a bright yellow staircase where images of memories flashed before my eyes. I was climbing to something. It seemed like life itself, perhaps enlightenment was at the top. This vision did not scare me like the one of the cog. It had a feeling of release at the top. The previous vision was much like the “Myth of Sisyphus” where we would be trapped for eternity. I certainly couldn’t think of anything more unpleasant than never ceasing to exist.
The last vision I remember was lucidly floating near a park. This one was pleasant though the feeling scared me a little to be leaving my body so vounerable as I was away. Truly there is a lot to think about as we live and when we are released in death, although some worries escape us, we still do not know of the road that lies ahead.
